Betty Marie. Banks, 97, of Manhattan, formerly of Brighton, Colorado passed away Friday, May 12, 2023. She was the mother of Missy (Bob) Cox of Manhattan as well as two sons Ted (Connie) Banks, of Brighton, CO; Charlie (Lin) Banks, of Benbrook, TX, and 5 grandchildren. An inurnment service will be on June 8, 2023, at Ft. Logan Cemetery, in Denver. Memorials to: The Staff at Collins House, Meadowlark Hills, Manhattan, KS. Checks payable to: Meadowlark Hills.

Betty was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Abbie Jane (Dobbs) and Max Alexander Jump. While she was teaching in Topeka, she met her future husband Jerry Kirk Banks and they were married in Arkansas on November 17, 1953. Betty was a retired Special Education Teacher, graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with a master’s in Special Education.

Betty was a member of Brighton Methodist Church in Brighton, Colorado. She was a teacher in the Denver School District and a volunteer at Camp Hope in Colorado
