Kansas State football’s schedule is set.
The Big 12 released the schedule for the 2024 football season Tuesday. It will be the first season in which the conference has 16 members. It is also the first season without Oklahoma and Texas.
The Wildcats open things up with a game against UT Martin on Aug. 31 before traveling to Tulane on Sept. 7. It will be the first time K-State has ever played the Skyhawks, and the Wildcats will look to avenge a 17-10 home loss to the Green Wave in 2022.
K-State will close out non-conference play at home versus Arizona, which is technically a new member of the Big 12, but the game was scheduled back in 2016, so to avoid a last minute schedule change, the game will not count toward conference standings. The game will either be played on Friday, Sept. 13, or Saturday, Sept. 14. It’s the eighth meeting all-time between the two programs and the first since 1978.
Then, for the 23rd time in the 29-year history of the Big 12, K-State will begin conference play away from home when the Wildcats travel to BYU on Sept. 21. The series between the two schools is tied 4-4.
The Wildcats will return home to face Oklahoma State on Sept. 28 before getting their first of two bye weeks this season.
On Oct. 12, K-State will make its first trip to Boulder to face Colorado since 2010. Then, the Wildcats will head east and make the trip to Morgantown on Oct. 19 to play West Virginia.
The 2024 edition of the Sunflower Showdown will be in Manhattan on Oct. 26 and then K-State will travel to Houston on Nov. 2.
The Wildcats will have their second bye on Nov. 9 before hosting Arizona State on Nov. 16. The Wildcats and Sun Devils have met seven times in school history, but the eighth meeting will be the first since the 2002 Holiday Bowl, which K-State won 34-27.
The Wildcats will have senior day on Nov. 23 versus Cincinnati before traveling to Iowa State to wrap up the regular season on Nov. 30.
The 2024 Big 12 Championship will be held on Dec. 7 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
K-State said they will announce season-ticket options for the 2024 season in the near future.
