Kansas State women’s basketball’s Ayoka Lee picked up her second All-America honor of the season on Tuesday when Sporting News named her to its third team.
The Athletic named the Wildcats’ 6-foot-6 senior center a second-team All-American last week, and she was a first-team All-Big 12 selection and a member of the league’s all-defensive team.
Lee is averaging 20.1 points per game while shooting 62.2%, which ranks sixth in the nation and leads the conference. Her scoring average is second in the Big 12. She’s also putting up 8.4 rebounds and 2.73 blocks per game, which is second in the league and ninth in Division I.
Lee is third in school history with 2,163 points in her career. During the Big 12 tournament earlier this month, she broke the school record for career rebounds and now has 1,098. She’s the school record-holder with 303 career blocks and 59 double-doubles.
As a junior in 2021-22, she received first-team All-America honors from The Athletic and Sports Illustrated after averaging 22 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. It was the second time in her career she has averaged a double-double, making her the first player in program history to do so twice.
She drew particular recognition on Jan. 23, 2022, when she broke the NCAA Division I single-game scoring record with 61 points in K-State’s 94-65 win over then-No. 22 Oklahoma. That performance was part of a conference-leading eight 30-plus-point games she logged that year.
Lee garnered her recognition this season despite missing seven games while recovering from injuries in both ankles.
