Kansas State forward Arthur Kaluma drives for a reverse layup during the Wildcats’ 77-52 Big 12 Conference win over UCF on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Bramlage Coliseum. Kaluma scored 14 points.

The Kansas State men’s basketball lost seven players to the transfer portal at the end of the 2023-24 season, and as of press time, six of those seven have found new home.

Most recently, senior forward Arthur Kaluma announced last week that after spending time at Creighton and K-State, he will be moving to the SEC with Texas.

Joining Kaluma in the SEC is senior shooting guard Cam Carter, who was the first former Wildcat in the portal after season’s end. He’s headed back closer to his home of Donaldsonville, Louisiana to Baton Rouge to play at LSU.

Last years’ freshman guard duo of Dai Dai Ames and RJ Jones also found Power 5 homes. Ames, the Chicago native, will play at Virginia, while the Texas-native Jones is headed to TCU.

Other Texas-bound former Wildcats include Jerrell Colbert, who is headed to Dallas to play at newly minted ACC-school SMU, and Dorian Finister is getting closer to his home of New Orleans, transferring to play at Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas, just outside of Houston.

Ques Glover, who transferred to K-State after time at Samford and Florida, is the only former player from last season still in the portal. Because of a chronic knee injury, Glover never saw the floor as a Wildcat.
