K-State students looking to get around campus can expect a new route this semester if they travel on Flint Hills ATA Bus to Cats’ Cupboard.

Daphne McNelly, the transportation agency’s marketing and communications specialist, said the route is convenient for students, as Cats’ Cupboard — the K-State food pantry — has become a vital resource for many.

“We’re excited to add that route for students,” McNelly said. “We want to make that trip more efficient and faster for them.”

The Flint Hills Area Transportation agency plans, manages and operates public transportation services in Manhattan, Junction City, Riley County, Pottawatomie County and Geary County. The ATA Bus offers free on-campus rides for K-State students, faculty and staff with a school identification cards.

Interested riders can see routes for the fall semester on the Flint Hills ATA Bus website.

McNelly also said the Flint Hills ATA Bus will unveil a new wrap on its buses in the coming months.

“We should have those out shortly,” McNelly said. “We went really all out here with some funky designs and we’re hoping the public really likes them.”
