College Heights Baptist Church

CHBC meets on Sundays for public worship. Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. The service is livestreamed as well; go to the College Heights Baptist Church website and look for the Facebook post for the April 7 worship service. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Pastor Laurie Lewis will give the message “Doubt Happens” based on John 20:19-31 at the 10:30 a.m. communion worship. Church school classes are at 9:30 a.m. Men’s Fellowship meets Tuesday, 8 a.m. at Vista restaurant, and at 9:30 a.m. First Christian folks will volunteer at the Breadbasket, which they love doing.

Do Day Quilting Group meets Wednesday, 9 a.m. in Community Hall. Scout Night is Thursday, and also the Disciples Women Spirit Sisters have their meeting. On April 13, we have the annual Treasurers in the Trunk sale. This huge garage sale type activity serves a host of sellers and buyers. If you want to buy or sell, come. First Congregational

At the First Free Methodist Church, 1231 Poyntz Ave., Sunday school for all ages is Sunday at 10 a.m. The adult lesson “Putting The Pieces Together” 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 Youth have a craft project. Worship service is Sunday at 11 a.m. Pastor Lewis O. Smith, Sr. will deliver a Bible message which will also be broadcast on Facebook. Communion will be offered and a compassion report presented. Men’s Bible study is Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

MJC will host a Friday night Shabbat dinner on April 5. A Sunday potluck brunch on April 7 will feature Miriam Edelman speaking about Jewish environmentalism. MJC, First Christian Church, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, and Ecumenical Campus Ministries will host an Interfaith Earth Day Celebration, with a prairie walk, activities for all ages, and a brief service on Sunday, April 21, beginning at 3 p.m.

MJC will hold a congregational seder on the second night of Passover, April 23.
